Many people believe that merely being in front of a camera grants them the right to call themselves “a model”
Many people believe that having whatever sort of camera and shoot around grants them the right to call themselves “a photographer”
Many people believe that working in a communication bureau/magazine/client marketing department grants them the right to judge other people’s work or even call themselves “art buyer”… as if they had a remote clue of what they’re seeing
This industry is full of individuals who don’t know the meaning of words such as “craft”, “dedication”, “personality”, “talent”, etc, and claim that their job is important, unique… and better. The world is full of people who don’t look for something beyond besides money, comfort and sex. TV around the world is full of shows searching for the new superstar. No experience needed, no talent needed, do your thing, scream louder, jump higher and get a lot of money for it. No reasons behind that, no struggle, no time dedication but specific goal achievement in the most optimized ways. No ART. Why? people have no culture, have no idea what’s enlightning, don’t care about the human soul.
I wasn’t raised like that. I’m an old school idealist, an insecure boy with good manners who thinks that things must be earned and deserved. I have higher standards. I don’t belong there. I don’t belong now. I walk my path in silence, unnoticed, trying to get better everyday, trying to find my own voice (does anyone know what the hell I’m talking about?) and perfecting that voice of mine so it someday sounds like the Angels. I’m just trying to be the best myself I can.
As I said, I don’t belong here.
